Equality

At Park Primary School we are committed to ensuring that we promote equality for all members of our school community (children, staff, parents and visitors).  We aim to do this through the use of our resources; our school policies and how we deliver our curriculum.

We also aim to promote a global understanding of equality issues through our practice and curriculum.  We fully accept our responsibility to educate our children about equality information and assertively address any behaviour that affects the equality of others.

That includes equality issues relating to:
•    gender
•    ethnicity and race
•    religion
•    disabilities
•    homophobic behaviours
•    any prejudice towards transgender people
•    age

EQUALITY OBJECTIVES (reviewed every four years)

1.     To monitor and analyse pupil achievement by race, gender and disability and act on any trends or patterns in the data that require additional support for pupils.

2.     To raise levels of attainment in core subjects for vulnerable learners.

3.     To review levels of parental and pupil engagement in learning and school life, across all activities to ensure equity and fairness in access and engagement.

4.    To continue to refine and embed our PSHE curriculum to reflect the RSE 2020 Guidance with a particular focus on healthy relationships, ‘whole body health’, personal safety and ‘whole body health’. Within our curriculum design, we will continue to build cultural capital through a rich variety of learning opportunities.
