Parents/Carers’ Evenings : Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd October
We would like to invite you to attend our Parents and Carers’ Evenings later this month. The details are as follows
These evenings provide important opportunities to discuss your child’s progress with their class teacher(s).
Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
If your child is on the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) register, you may have noticed that in the summer term we moved over to a new format to record your child’s targets. We no longer use the Person Centred Plan (PCP) format which used to be shared with you via email. Our new format is called an Individual Support Plan (ISP). Moving forward, a printed copy will be shared with you by your child’s class teacher. This will give you an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress towards their targets and to discuss ways in which you can support them at home.
During our upcoming parents’ and carers’ evenings, the review of your child’s previous targets and their current ISP will be shared and discussed with you, and you will be given a copy to take home with you.
ISPs will be reviewed termly (autumn, spring and summer) and new targets set. Each time, they will be shared with you by the class teacher.
If your child has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), they will also have an ISP where their outcomes are broken into short term targets. This will also be reviewed and shared with you each term.
New for this year - in addition to meeting with your child’s class teacher(s), parents also have the opportunity to book appointments with key members of our support team.
Appointments with Miss Wickens, School SENCO:
Opportunities for parents who wish to talk about wider concerns such as ADHD, autism, medical or health needs, or to discuss possible referrals to external agencies.
Any questions about your child’s learning or the general SEND support they are receiving should be discussed with their class teacher.
Appointments Miss Thomas, Inclusion, Safeguarding and Pastoral Lead:
This provides a chance to discuss matters relating to your child’s wellbeing, safety, or wider pastoral needs, as well as to find out more about the guidance and support available within and beyond school.
We will once again use our online appointment booking system, School Cloud, which allows you to choose your own appointment times, and you will then receive an email confirming your appointment. Bookings are now live and will close at 6pm on Tuesday 21st October. Should you wish to make any changes after these dates, please contact the school office.
