Wellbeing Award for Schools

Wellbeing is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as “the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy.” However, it is important to realise that wellbeing is a much broader concept than moment-to-moment happiness. While it does include happiness, it also includes other things, such as how satisfied people are with their life a whole, their sense of purpose, and how in control they feel.

At Park, we are committed to ensuring everyone has positive emotional wellbeing and mental health. We are constantly reviewing our practices and putting support in place where needed.

We were recently awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools with Optimus Education in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau. We worked hard to achieve the eight objectives of the award led by our wellbeing change group: Mrs Theobald, Mrs Smyth, Mrs Reid, Mrs Parry-Yates, Mrs Mason and our wellbeing governor. We also have a group of pupil wellbeing champions and a parent wellbeing group.
