Early Years Foundation Stage
Starting school is an exciting milestone, and at Park Primary School we are committed to ensuring every child has the very best start to their educational journey. We recognise that every child is unique, arriving with their own interests, experiences and strengths, and we work closely with families to help each child feel safe, happy and confident from the very beginning.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provides a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, play, discover and develop a lifelong love of learning. Through carefully planned activities, high-quality teaching and meaningful play experiences, we help children build confidence, independence and resilience whilst developing the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.
We place great importance on developing children's communication and language, early reading, writing and mathematics, alongside their personal, social and emotional development. Learning takes place both indoors and outdoors, with exciting opportunities that inspire curiosity, creativity and problem-solving every day.
At Park, we believe that strong partnerships between home and school are key to every child's success. By working together with parents and carers, we create a positive and supportive start to school life, ensuring children are well prepared not only for Year 1, but for the many exciting learning experiences that lie ahead.
Our EYFS curriculum follows the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, providing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum that supports every child to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
