School Meals and Milk
At Park, we are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children, and this extends to the meals we serve each day. Our school catering team offers a varied and nutritious menu that caters to a wide range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-specific needs. We recognise that children may have individual dietary needs due to medical conditions, personal choices, or religious beliefs, and we are fully committed to accommodating these with care and sensitivity.
We work closely with parents, carers, and healthcare professionals to ensure that every child has access to safe, appropriate, and enjoyable meals. Our catering team is happy to discuss any specific requirements to provide tailored support. If your child has particular dietary needs or restrictions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office so we can make suitable arrangements.
A hot meal is served each day and a deli bar offering additional options of filled baked potatoes, paninis, sandwiches, wraps and salad. Also available every day – yogurts, fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, juices, milk and water. Children can also choose bring in a packed lunch.
Pupils in Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2 all qualify for a free meal under the universal infant free school meal scheme. See below for further information. Therefore, the cost of a school meal for pupils in Years 3 to 6 is £ 2.40 per day. If you pay for meals, please ensure that your Arbor account is topped up and kept in credit.
Pupils in Foundation 1 Owls class that stay for 30 hours can either bring a packed lunch or have a school meal. If your child qualifies for Early Years Pupil Premium, lunches are free. If your child does not qualify for Early Years Pupil Premium, meals are charged at £1.50 per day.

Free School Meals
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you receive any of the following:
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• Guaranteed element of Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
• Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
• Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Claiming is straight-forward – contact the school office to complete an application form. You will need yours and your child’s dates of birth, and your National Insurance Number.
Information regarding those who are eligible for free school meals is kept strictly confidential by Park staff. All children and families are treated in the same way; there is no difference in the meal provided for a child who has a paid school meal.
Universal Infant Free School Meals
All children in Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a universal infant free school meal (UIFSM). This does not depend on your household income or whether you receive any benefits – every child in these year groups is eligible to take up the offer.
If your child is in Foundation 2, Year 1 or Year 2, they will receive a UIFSM. However, if you meet the eligibility criteria for free school meals above, it is extremely important that you claim for this. Schools receive Pupil Premium funding from the government for every child that is or has been registered for free school meals at any time in the last six years.
For further information on how we use Pupil Premium at Park, please see the current Pupil Premium Strategy Statement within the 'Key Information' section of this website.
Foundation 1 - 30 hours owls
If your child attends for 30 hours, you can either provide a packed lunch or pay £1.50 for a school meal. Our meals are a slighty smaller portion size for younger children. If your child qualifies for Early Years Pupil Premium, we will provide a free school meal for them. Please check with the school office. If you pay for meals, please ensure that your Arbor account is topped up and kept in credit.
MILK
School milk is:
FREE for children under the age of five years;
FREE to children receiving or entitled to free school meals; and
Subsidised for all other children in primary education
If your child is not entitled to free milk, you can pay for this by registering with our provider, Cool Milk. Milk usually costs around £18 a term. By registering online, you’ll be able to make a payment straightaway. If your payment is received by 5pm on a Tuesday, your child will receive milk the following week.
