Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision and we are delighted that you are considering Park Primary School. We warmly welcome visits from prospective parents and carers. Reception (Foundation 2) and In Year Admissions

Applications for Reception places and all in-year admissions are made through Wirral Local Authority.

  • Applications open in September.

  • The national closing date is 15th January each year.

  • School places are offered by the Local Authority in April.

Nursery (Foundation 1) Admissions

Our Nursery provides a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn, play and develop through a wide range of exciting experiences.

We offer:

  • Universal 15 Hours Childcare – Morning sessions only, 8:45am to 11:45am, for all eligible three and four-year-old children.

  • 30 Hours Extended Childcare8:45am to 3:30pm, for eligible working families who meet the Government's criteria.

Children attending our 30-hour provision may either bring a healthy packed lunch or enjoy a freshly prepared school meal.

  • Children who are eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) receive a school meal free of charge.

  • For children who are not eligible for EYPP, school meals are available at a cost of £1.50 per day.

Can I visit the school before applying?

Yes. We encourage all prospective parents and carers to visit our school before making an application. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour. We look forward to welcoming you.

How do I apply for a Reception place?

Applications for Reception places are made through Wirral Local Authority during the normal admissions round. Full details, including key dates and how to apply, can be found on the Wirral Council website (link above).

I'm thinking about moving my child to Park Primary during the school year. What should I do?

If you are considering an in-year transfer, we recommend that you speak to your child's current school in the first instance. They may be able to help resolve any concerns you have and provide advice about the transfer process.

How do I apply for an in-year place?

Applications for in-year admissions are made through Wirral Local Authority. Once your application has been received, the Local Authority will liaise with the school regarding the availability of places and will notify you of the outcome.

Do I need to live in the catchment area?

No. Children do not have to live within our catchment area to apply for a place. If there are more applications than places available, the Local Authority will allocate places in accordance with the published admissions criteria.

What happens if I am not offered a place?

If your application is unsuccessful, Wirral Local Authority will explain your right of appeal and provide information about the appeals process.
